In all fairness, there was probably some other voices in the background when Baren picked up the phone - being at a photoshoot tends to be a pretty busy place. He has work to do and he thinks it's a very, very convenient excuse for not entertaining the phone call much more than that.
For a long time, he even tells himself that he's not going to do anything about it. If Zoro wants new clothes, he should make some new fucking friends!!

So he shows up at the hospital dressed down as ever, his hair covered as he wears Zoro's hoodie and a pair of shades. When he gets into the hospital room, directed by hospital staff who know his get-up well enough by now, he throws Zoro a can of Bud Light that he picked up from somewhere because he refuses to spend money on shitty beer on principle. He even picks up a napkin immediately to wipe the poor quality off of his fingers.
